Honda CR-V LX Returning to Dealerships

You can get a lot from the Honda CR-V, but for a little while the one thing you couldn’t find was the crossover’s original entry-level trim. We’re happy to announce that this trim level, the Honda CR-V LX, returns to the fold – and to Pacific Honda – so that SUV shoppers have an affordable but feature-filled option to choose.

Why Was This Model Discontinued?

The pandemic hit every automaker with chip shortages and supply chain issues, causing a severe imbalance between supply and demand. Like its competitors, Honda was constrained in the number of cars it could build, and found itself raising prices to make up for the higher manufacturing costs.

However, other forces were also at work. Flush with stimulus money, car shoppers gravitated toward models with more luxury features and advanced technology. Models that didn’t offer those amenities suffered, and it was harder to make a business case for the Honda CR-V LX as a result.

Why is it Coming Back?

Now the pendulum is swinging in the other direction. From gas to milk and toilet paper, inflation is taking a bite out of everyone’s budgets, so consumers’ habits are shifting yet again.

Suddenly, a lighter, more efficient, and more affordable crossover is looking mighty attractive. As they’ve done in the past, Honda brass is responding to the times and changes in demand by bringing back the Honda CR-V LX.

As before, this trim doesn’t offer quite as many bells and whistles as its higher-level counterparts (though we still have them if those luxury features are a priority). Competitive and affordable, it’s yet another great reason to visit your Honda dealership.
