Routine maintenance can sometimes fall to the bottom of your priority list. But the Honda tune-up schedule makes it easy to stay on track with these important tasks.
Whether you have a new Honda Pilot or used Honda Accord, this tune-up guide will keep these efficient vehicles running for many years.
The service center at Pacific Honda is here to help demystify the process of getting a Honda tune-up. The convenient Service Group A and Service Group B style of maintenance keeps you on track at our certified Honda service center.
Honda Service Schedules
Honda conveniently divides the routine maintenance tasks into two groups: Service Group A and Service Group B. Following this recommendation helps your Honda vehicle maintain its efficiency and mileage and stay tuned-up.
Service Group A
Service Group A is a very simple visit involving an oil change and tire rotation. These are simple maintenance tasks you are probably already familiar with.
Service Group B
Service Group B is a much lengthier appointment, with a focus on the following tasks:
- Replace Engine Oil Filter
- Inspect Cooling System Hoses and Connections
- Inspect Front and Rear Brakes
- Check Parking Brake Adjustment
- Inspect Brake Hoses and Lines
- Check all Fluid Levels, Conditions of Fluids, and Check for Leaks
Additional Recommended Maintenance Schedule
Aside from Service Group A and B, there are other maintenance tasks to be completed for a long-lasting Honda tune-up. Here are some additional recommended maintenance items to check into at different mileage milestones:
Every 15,000 miles
We recommend checking and replacing your vehicle’s various fluids, and the oil and oil filter every 15,000 miles. Schedule a brake inspection, tire pressure and tread inspection, and a tire rotation at this milestone too.
Every 30,000 miles
There are many Honda tune-up tasks to be done at the 30,000 mile mark. You should rotate and balance the wheels and inspect the vehicle’s undercarriage. Brake hoses and parking brakes should be tested, as well as the transmission, windshield wipers, and steering systems.
The complete once-over continues with a lubrication of the chassis, hinges, and wheel bearings. Service the battery, headlights, and fuel tank as needed. Check shocks, spark plugs, and struts. Inspect the heating and cooling systems and replace the air conditioning filter.
